The list of donations collected by GambleAware between April and September 2021 is published
GambleAware has made public the comprehensive list of financial contributions and promises it has received from individuals and organizations throughout the first and second quarters of the fiscal year 2021-22. The nonprofit organization brought in a total of £10.6 million ($14.6 million) during the first half of the fiscal year. The monetary contribution came from the gambling business in the form of voluntarily offered donations; it does not take into account regulatory settlements or further payments.
At this time, the Gambling Commission has recommended that persons who earn a profit from gambling in the United Kingdom provide GambleAware a minimum of 0.1% of their gross gaming yield (GGY) on an annual basis as a direct donation to the charity.
It is planned that the donated funds will be used for activities that include services and programs of work such as the National Gambling Treatment Service (which includes the begambleaware.org website, National Gambling Helpline, and other treatment services across Great Britain), the Gambling Education Hub (which is currently being expanded to England and Wales), the Annual Great Britain Treatment and Support Survey (and interactive maps, which are meant to show and report the distribution of problem gamblers), and the Gambling Education Hub (which is currently being expanded to Great Britain (such as Bet Regret and the National Gambling Treatment Service campaign).
The charitable organization asserts that it operates under a governance structure that is robust, autonomous, and responsible to its stakeholders.
GambleAware is directed by a Board of Trustees that is totally separate from the gaming industry. This ensures that the gaming world does not have any influence over the commissioning decisions made by the charity, which helps GambleAware work toward its mission of making society free from the negative effects of gambling.
